Utilize Branches on DoltHub
Dolt brings branch semantics to databases. Just like git, you can checkout a new branch, commit changes, and merge branches. DoltHub is a visual editor for Dolt and a place where you can share Dolt databases on the web.
Creating branches is a core functionality of Dolt that we recently brought to DoltHub. In this video, we demo a use case of branching, namely using branches to isolate experimentation from a production "app" that uses Dolt as its backing database. We show how intuitive and easy it is to obtain a branch of the data, how you can use pull requests to propose changes and get data reviews from collaborators, and how effortless it is to merge new changes back into production.
Check out the video and play around with Dolt branches on DoltHub. If you're interesting in hearing more about what Dolt can do, come talk to us on Discord! We're online and happy to chat.
